Summary

Addressed to all owners, agents and managers of coal, metalliferous and oil mines. Transmits the Gazette notifications made under rules 131, 140, 141 and 152 of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Central) Rules 2026 covering the standards for apparatus and equipment to be provided and maintained at rescue stations and rescue rooms, including the minimum number to be held for immediate use [G.S.R. 571(E), rule 131(1)] and the apparatus required at the entrance of a belowground mine where no rescue room is located [G.S.R. 572(E), rule 131(2)], both published on 1 July 2026. It also covers the procedures for testing breathing and resuscitating apparatus, flow meters and oxygen purity, the standards for initial and refresher training and practice for rescue-trained persons, and the medical examination of persons selected for rescue and recovery training.
